Eclipse in One Week

Get ready - there is one more week until the Great North American Solar Eclipse on Monday April 8, 2024!

Order approved LUNT eclipse glasses or American Paper Eclipse Glasses while there is still time and read on for a step-by-step guide to planning the big day

1. Find out when will the eclipse be more full where you live.

   1. Click on the following link and enter your zip code or town, select the April 8 eclipse (it will show you future ones expected in your area) - https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/in/

   2. You can see the time eclipse begins, the time it is its most complete where you live and when it ends.

2. Plan where you want to view the eclipse. Pick a location with an the clearest view of the open sky. If you want to meet with others, decide on a spot where you can gather.

3. Decide how to view the eclipse - Will you use eclipse glasses 🤓 or making a pinhole viewer (Do not look directly at the sun!)

   1. If you want to use eclipse glasses, order them TODAY while you still have time to receive them. NASA created a list of Suppliers of Safe Solar Viewers & Filters in response to the high number of counterfeit "approved" glasses.

6. Hope for good weather. If there are clouds, their thickness will determine how much you can still see of the eclipse. Space.com goes into more detail to help you navigate the weather.
